I have been intrigued by birth photography for years, lured in by the magical nature of birth but never quite ready to take the leap. That is until one of my dear clients approached me with interest and desire to have her second child's birth documented.
Natalie was 6 months pregnant at the time with a toddler at home that was born in an emergency c-section. She wanted this birth to be completely different, natural, healing and calm.
On July second, after nearly 42 weeks of anticipation, I received a call from Natalie letting me know that she was well on her way to getting the VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) that she dreamt about for so many months! She had a feeling that it would take a while so she advised me to wait at home but to be prepared. That is a big part of birth photography...waiting.
At around 7PM, after over 20 hours of labor, she gave me a green light and I immediately rushed to Broward General Hospital to document the most emotional, difficult and amazing moments in Natalie and Will's lives.
Here is their birth story through the lens of my camera:

I can't tell you enough how much I loved being there to capture this extremely important and beautiful moment in this family's life. It's so emotional just being there in the room watching through the lens.
